Compared to the inorganic semiconductors, the organic semiconductor optoelectronic devices have advantages of simple preparation, low cost, light weight and easy to bend, so they have been paid more attention in recent decades. Recently some research works have been reported for the performance enhancement of the organic solar cells by using the dielectric polarization, which makes the study of organic insulating dielectric layer in the optoelectronic devices become a next hot research topics.Firstly, this paper reviews the research progress and application prospect of organic photovoltaic devices about the organic thin film solar cells and organic photodetectors at home and abroad, and its working principle. In order to study the working principle of the organic photovoltaic devices and improve its performance, we insert the transparent organic insulating dielectric layer between the working layer and the electrode of the organic optoelectronic devices. We found:1), if we insert the organic insulating dielectric layer, the conduction current of devices is replaced by the displacement current, which can improve the speed of response of devices, and reduce both of the rise and fall time. By theoretical fitting the experimental data, we can validate the influence after inserting the organic insulating dielectric layer.2), the insulation layer between the working layer and the electrode can shield the effect of the electrode to the working layer, which can easy to study the interaction between the working layer and the other electrode. It will help us for in-depth study in the Schottky-type optoelectronic devices.We can understand the important of the organic insulating dielectric layer in the organic optoelectronic devices by this research. This can be used in organic thin film solar cells and organic photodetectors, and it is expected to further expansion in the applied research of organic insulating dielectric layer.
