Efficiently organizing, managing and inspecting large-scale picture data has become a problem, which needs to be solved urgently.In nowadays, the study based on content image retrieval is a hot topic, and many domestic and international academic institutions are engaged in the research of this topic, and they have obtained meaningful research results. The aim of this thesis is to investigate extensively domestic and international relevant about CBIR (the Content Based Image Retrieval) data, and to perform systematic analysis and research according to color characteristics of images.This paper around some of the key technology-based image retrieval, in-depth research, the main contents include:1、The color of the basic elements of image content, select a human visual characteristics of the color model for the use of the color characteristics of image retrieval is essential. Commonly used color space can be divided into two categories, one is for the hardware equipment, for example, color monitors printers, etc., other-oriented color processing for the purpose. For the hardware devices most commonly used is the RGB color space, the most commonly used color space for color processing, the HIS color space and HSV color space. This article describes several commonly used color space, and to identify the color space suitable for use in image retrieval system. 2、Because in current image database, most of the image is color image, so color characteristics is one fi the most extensive characteristics.This text is the object with the common picture, to make use of a few key problems that the color characteristic carries on the picture index:The space of the color.
