Mobile Ad hoc network is less of infrastructure and a multi-hop network, which be composed of some self-organizing nodes. Ad hoc network is a hot research field. At present, international research on Ad hoc network communication problems are focus on link layer, network layer, application layer including MAC protocol, route protocol, network security, QoS, power control and so on. But the complex problems from topology’s high dynamic are advanced and unconcern in international. This article researched on three problems:spatial multiplexing, net separation and link change, which due to the dynamic changes of mobile Ad hoc network topology, and then proposed three features based on them.First of all, spatial multiplexing is an important measurement for data throughput of a network. This article analyzed the causes of spatial multiplexing, and researched this problem in a quantitative way by the definition of spatial multiplexing ratio. This article also used simulation and curve fitting, in order to get a functional relationship between spatial multiplexing ratio and nodes’quantity and communication radius, which is feature one of mobile Ad hoc network topology.Secondly, the health of a network’s communication is easily destroyed by net separation. This article analyzed the causes of net separation, and researched this problem from macro and micro by defining net separation time ratio, net separation degree and Ad hoc network load ratio. Through analyzing the data from simulation, this article proposed feature two of mobile Ad hoc network topology.Thirdly, link change is the root cause of the change of network topology. This article analyzed the causes of link change, and researched this problem in a quantitative way from long-term and transient angle by defining (standard) integral link change ratio and (standard) instantaneous link change ratio. Through simulation, this article analyzed the effect of nodes’ speed and Ad hoc network load ratio to link change, when alone and corresponded. This article also compared the differences of link change between link layer and net layer, and illustrated how to compare efficiency of different route protocol from this angle. And then, this article proposed the feature three of mobile Ad hoc network topology. In a word, this article researched three problems:spatial multiplexing, net separation and link change, in this way, we get three features which propose other researchers basic materials to make advanced research convenient.
