Sliding mode variable structure control is a special kind of robust control design method, and the sliding mode of system is invariant for the uncertainty which meets matching conditions. It is the unique advantage mentioned above that makes sliding control as a first scheme of robust control, getting the attention of most scholars. However, sliding mode control has the deficiency of high frequency buffeting produced by the non-linear of controller. Therefore, the buffeting problem seriously hinders the application of variable structure control. The nonlinear control system is one of the most active research fields today, while the synchronization of unified chaotic system getting the attention of most scholars. Thus, this article combines sliding mode control and synchronization of unified chaotic system, and achieves synchronization of unified chaotic system using the rapidity and robustness of sliding mode control.Sliding mode control is studied and discussed in the synchronization issue of unified chaotic system. The main work is as follows:Firstly, the synchronization of unified chaotic system with uncertainty and external disturbances is studied. According to the characteristics of unified chaotic system itself, a kind of sliding mode controller of dimension reduction is designed, which controls partial states in order to control the entire system, and reduces the complexity and cost of system effectively. A improved exponential approach law is also introduced that effectively inhibits the buffeting caused by sliding mode control. Given the control method, the synchronization of two unified chaotic systems with external disturbances is achieved, and the system is barely affected by uncertainties and external disturbances, having strong robustness. Finally, the method given in this article is simulated, and the effectiveness of the control method is verified.Secondly, the rapidity and robustness of synchronization attracts most scholars in the research of chaotic synchronization. As we all know, good robustness and strong anti-interference ability is an important feature of sliding mode control, and two-terminal sliding mode has the characteristic of finite time convergence. Under the advantage of terminal sliding mode control, such control is applied to chaotic synchronization problems, making the time of synchronization much shorter than that of ordinary sliding surface. Therefore, this article selects terminal sliding mode to control synchronization of a class of unified chaotic synchronization system. Last, the simulation verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of such terminal sliding surface.
