3D spatial modeling method for faults-bedded coal seams is extremely important for3D geographic information system and3D geoscience modeling. Domestic and international researches in this area are generous, and3D spatial modeling is not only a hot and difficult issue, but also one of the key technologies of digital mine. Based on detailed analysis to the developments in the mine geographic information system (MGIS) and researches on domestic and overseas coal spatial modeling, the main contents of this thesis include:First, the study focuses on the research of property characteristics and spatial analysis of data organization for drill data and coal seams floor contour data. Based on the characteristics of2D coal seams in AutoCAD, Object ARX technology is used to develop a user interface program to achieve the semiautomatic data extraction in AutoCAD format.Secondly, based on the study on the update researches of the algorithm of3D modeling methods for coal seams, the author advanced a double concentric match algorithm. This algorithm improves the matching precise as compared with the traditional minimal distance algorithm, and it can not only model coal seams and faults separately, but also model coal seams and faults together. Finally, using SQL Server database, visual C++6.0and OpenGL as development tools and based on GeoMS3D platform, a software for3D coal seams modeling with faults system is developed, which uses drill data and contour map of coal seams data. It is tested in Qianjiaying Mine of Kai Luan Corporation.
