Automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) is a high-tech-intensive mechanical and electrical integration product which contains the knowledge of information, storage and management. With it, the efficiency of warehouse is improved. With the development of logistics and the growing tensions of urban land, AS/RS in automated warehouse system must be more automated and intelligent. In this context, AS/RS in automated warehouse system is studied in my thesis.In this thesis, with my laboratory’s automated warehouse as the experimental platform, the management and control system of AS/RS is researched and developed. The major elements are summarized as follows:First of all, the definition, development, classification and significance of AS/RS are summarized. Meanwhile, the general structure of AS/RS is described, and the hardware structure and control structure of the system are introduced.Secondly, through the analysis of the functions of AS/RS data management system, the appropriate development tools Delphi7.0and database Access2000is selected, and the corresponding program and the data management system is designed.Thirdly, based on the analysis of the control system of mobile rack and stacker, the hardware system design and PLC program implementation were carried out to realize the multi-speed operation of shelves and the precise identification of site and the smooth and efficient speed control of the stacker. And the communication between PC and PLC is designed. The RS232communications technology, HostLink communication protocols and Spcomm communication controls are used in the program design to complete the reliable communications between PC and PLC.Then, based on the summary on the AS/RS location assignment and scheduling rules, the appropriate scheduling strategy is selected, and a mathematical model of Scheduling is set up. By comparing the two ways of single storage and more complex storage, this problem can be seen as a TSP problem, and use genetic algorithm to optimize the path.Finally, the thesis is summarized and the further researching work is pointed out.
