Satellite navigation system has been widely used in communication, transportation,weather and many other systems with its global navigation and positioning, timing,speed and other advantages. There are four satellite navigation systems: the U.S. GPSsystem, Russia’s GLONASS system, the European GALILEO system, and China’sBeidou satellite navigation system (including the Compass system and No.2Beidousystem). In order to solve the problems like coverage blank and low precision in asingle system, it is necessary to study the navigation antenna which could work inmulti-mode.As the satellite navigation signal is very weak and is easy to be interfered, itrequests that the receiver antenna with anti-jamming capability. This paper introducesthe basic theory and main algorithms of the adaptive circular array, and modeling andsimulation it.This paper presents the basic theory required by researching uniform circular array,introduces the directional function, phase-mode excitation and mode space theory of theuniform circular array.. Analysize the impact factor of the uniform circular array affectthe array pattern, and its beam scanning characteristics. This paper also presents thedesign a kind of uniform circular array that could meet the requirement of themulti-mode satellite navigation system.The uniform circular has the disadvantage of a high sidelobe, so this paper presentsseveral methods to improve and optimize it, and modeling and simulation of everymethod, and achieve good results.
