With WiFi hotspots now widely distributed, in order to facilitate the user access tothe network at anytime and anyplace, a system for sharing WiFi is proposed in thisthesis. A user in this system shares his own AP to get the identity mark. After he passedthe identity authentication, the user can approach the net through this AP. For userswho share their APs in this system, the access service is free of charge. Two schemes of identity authentication for the two different network modes insharing WiFi system is proposed in this thesis. Under the Fit AP+AC mode, a wirelessaccess based on IEEE802.1x protocol is adopted, with the mutual authentication usingEAP-TLS and RADIUS to verify the validity of the user’s identity. Under the Fat APmode, an improved S/KEY authentication is designed and implemented in this thesis, which combining DES and RSA algorithm. In this way, it can effectively achieve theclient/sever two way’s authentication. The advantage of the static password system is maintained in this scheme, whichis easy to operate. Furthermore, the scheme not only improves the security intensity ofthe system by adding uncertain factors, but also ensures the security of the transmittinginformation by encryption and the consequential communication by accomplishing thesession key agreement when the authentication is passed. Succinctly designed, withreliable security and a low cost, without a third party, the scheme can be a goodsolution to the problem of identity authentication and the communication security insharing WiFi system.
