In an Unmanned Aircraft System contained synthetic aperture radar (SAR), servo system drive antenna rotation around the azimuth and elevation, with the antenna illuminating the target area and obtain information of target image. High-performance servo system plays an important role in airborne radar system. Because the airborne radar’system has a rigid limitation for space, weight and power and reliability, traditional control mode cannot satisfy the requirement. The digital embedded system orienting application with computer technology as the foundation and the software and hardware customized, can adapt to the requirements of the system for function, reliability, cost, volume and power.This paper has firstly analysised the function of the servo ystem and elaborated work principle, working mode, technical indicators and the application of the stable platform technology. On the base of the analysis, expounds the system architecture, designing process of the core hardware and the software. The DC torque permanent magnet motor with small volume, light weight, wide working temperature range as actuators, the H bridge module of MSK as power drive unit, the rate gyroscope of coaxial installation in azimuth and elevation as the speed feedback and attitude of the stability testing devices, the encoder of rotating transformer with independent designed as angle measurement and angle error feedback element, the STR750-the ARM embedded microcontroller with powerful function and wide temperature range as hardware platform, the servo system has completed all-in-one integration design of driver and controller.The research result of the thesis completed the SAR servo system, the core of this system is based on embedded digital integrated drive controller. In practical application, the system has satisfied requirement and passed the test.
