The paper mainly discusses the design and development process of a turntableservo system based on DSP, and a sliding mode controller is designed to improve thelow speed crawling phenomenon.Firstly, the overall design scheme of the hardware system is put forward in thispaper. Components are determined according to the performance specifications andtechnology requirements of the system.Secondly, overall flowchart of the lower computer software is designed based onthe function requirements of the system. Modules that are developed include timer,D/A conversion, output, data acquisition and serial communication. On this basis, themain functions such as testing, pointing and tracking are realized.Then, the upper computer software is developed according to the designrequirement, upper and lower computers are jointly debugged on the basis ofdeveloped softwares, and the testing result can meet the requirements.Finally, reasons for the low speed crawling phenomenon are analysied. A slidingmode controller is designed to improve the low speed crawling phenomenon, andsimulation results proves that sliding mode controller is feasible.
