With the widely use of mobile phones and the rapid improvement of mobilephone functions, mobile phones have become the most important communicationequipment in our daily life, among which the mobile phones that are low in price andeasy to operate are the most popular. Thus, as the primary function of the mobilephones, communication plays a pivotal role and it is significant to make the phoneswork more stable and make the user interface be more user-friendly. The developmentof call module is based on Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless (BREW) whicheffectively improves the problems of traditional CDMA mobile phones such as worsetransplantable capability, more coding modify, difficult to maintenance, inadaptable tothe development of new data service, higher developing cost and so on.This thesis mainly focuses on the research and design of the application softwarefor CDMA mobile phones’ call module which is based on the superstratumapplication platform—BREW. Firstly, the software running platform REXembedded operation system and the superstratum software running platform BREWare introduced. Secondly, the requirements analysis is presented. Then, the designscheme of the call module is introduced. In this part the MVC framework andIWindow mechanism are introduced in detail. Moreover, the detailed design methodsof the call module and procedures to realize them are proposed as well. The design ofthis module fully considered the reusability, portability and maintainability of thecode.On the basis of the realization of the call module’s main functions, the callmodule software is tested. The test results show that the module works stability. Toconclude, the methods have certain reference value to the re-development of existingmechanisms on BREW platform.
