Wireless sensor network is a multi-hop self-organizing network formed by wireless communication skill, which is composed of a large amount of low-price sensor nodes deployed in the monitoring region. After being collaboratively perceived, acquainted and processed, information of perceived object in network coverage area is sent to observers. The rapid development of wireless sensor network technology, which has expanded the application range, has brought great attention for sensor network security. By now, some security protocols have been proposed by researchers to solve the security problems in sensor network, but they have a common characteristic:their security mechanisms are all static and they provide some immutable high level security service. And this will bring two results. On one hand, each implementation of security service will consume the energy and storage space of nodes, high level security mechanism will shorten the life cycle of network. On the other hand, in sensor network which is related to applications, different applications have different security requirements. Immutable level of security service can not meet the security requirements of application, but also leads to that low security needs are configured by high level security mechanisms, and cause the waste of energy.To solve these problems this paper proposes a kind of security management system for wireless sensor network which is a dynamic security mechanism. It uses cross-layer architecture to implement this security management system. It first obtains the status of network communication and the security requirements of application through well defined interfaces; and then it dynamically assembles security mechanisms according to these parameters, runs the corresponding security algorithms, and provides network its required security services. Finally, the components and performance of the security management system are tested using the testing tool of TinyOS. The components testing results show that the security management system can dynamically provide security services in TinyOS, the performance testing results show that this system can effectively reduce the energy consumption of the node and prolong the life cycle of network based on the realization of security.
