Software testing is an important role in the process of software development, and itis an effective method of assuring the quality of software. This thesis mainly researcheson the method of UML sequence diagrams based software testing and realizing of thetool.Since the UML models are semi-formal, the rules and the algorithms oftransforming sequence diagrams to LTS are presented. And then, using the analyzingtools of LTS, the errors and defects of the models can be found, which can check thesoftware. For generating the test cases, this thesis presents rules and algorithms ofgenerating test cases by using LTS. Then, the realization of UML sequence diagramsbased software testing implementing automatically is presented, which generates thetest scripts from the test cases to drive the system tested running, and compares theresults of the implementing to generate the results of testing.Finally, the design and the implementation of a UML sequence diagrams basedsoftware testing tool is introduced, and this tool ensures the feasibility of UMLsequence diagrams based software testing.
