With the rapid development of wireless mobile communicationsystems, it requires higher data rate, higher spectrum efficiency, higherreliability, and lower transmit power to satisfy kinds of emerging wirelessmobile service. Since cooperative network significantly improve mobilesystems’ data rate and reliability, limited spectrum resources become themost urgent problem before us. Incremental-Relaying (IR) technique cansignificantly improve the spectrum efficiency. Moreover, compared withspace-time coding and beamforming techniques, it can be more easilyapplied in existing systems, which makes it attractive for us. In thisdissertation, my research focused on the Incremental-Relaying techniquein cooperative networks and its application and it includes the followingparts:Firstly, we setup the basic mathematic model of single relaycooperative diversity system for convenient, in which relay has only oneantenna; then we discuss three existing IR protocols. We conduct detailedanalytical analyze and simulation on the outage probability performanceabout each protocol. The simulation results confirm the conclusion.Secondly, based on the above discussion, we pay attention to themultiple relays cooperative system, and introduce a traditional multiplerelays network model. In this model, we propose two practical multiplerelays IR protocols. Detailed analytical analyze are provided in thisdissertation. At last, we compare and summarize the performance of thetwo incremental protocols from outage probability and spectrum efficiencypoint. The simulation results show that the proposed two incremental protocols can both achieve high diversity gain and effectively improve thespectrum efficiency.In the last part, combining the novel and attractive multiple-input andmultiple-output (MIMO) cooperative technique, we research theapplication of IR technique in it. We introduce a traditional MIMO relaychannel model and innovatively propose a MIMO IR protocol. We conductdetailed analytical analyze and simulation on the data rate and spectrumefficiency. The simulation results show that combining with MIMO system,IR technique can certainly improve the data rate and spectrum utilization.Computer simulations give us more visual conclusion.
