During the manufacturing process of sanitation ceramics, glazing robots need to teachwhen they are glazing the products. Traditional teaching system guides robots to operatecomplying with manufacturing process, which is realized through the staff operating theteaching box. Teaching results are depending on the operating level of the workers. What’smore, the category of Chinese sanitation ceramics is diverse and varies from one to the other.As a result, it brings great difficulty to the teaching operation, which influences themanufacturing benefit and the extent of automation of the whole manufacturing line.The paper is focused on the study of teaching system design method about glazing robotsbased on image processing. The theoretical conception of the said system is as follows:obtaining the image of the target object by the vedio system. obtaining the spatialcoordinate information and the shape information of different glazing surfaces on the targetobject by means of image processing technique; forming the information about theoperation moving orbit of the glazing robots, moving attitude and speed combing with themanufacturing process; finally transmitting all the information to the operation robots toachieve the result of teaching. In this paper, the image of the toilet from the sanitary applianceis taken for an example to process. In image processing, according to the characters ofsanitary ceramics, appropriate methods is applied,such as connectivity and denoising,throughwhich the processing result is improved significantly.In the paper, image processing technique is applied to the teaching of the sanitaryceramics glazing robots, which improved the robots teaching technique and its flexibility. Inthe paper, the interaction interface between persons and machines of the system is designed,which makes the operation more convenient and reduces the demand to the operators’professional skill.
