In recent years, with the rapid development of wireless communication technology, anew type of network, cognitive wireless networks has been created. In the cognitivewireless network, secondary users constant detecting the available of useful spectrum, thenaccess and use spectrum opportunistic and without interfering with the primary users,.Routing is one of the most important issues in cognitive wireless network and also veryhard to research. Routing protocol of cognitive radio network need further research. In thisbackground, in this paper, we proposed a new routing algorithm which is used to reduce thecognitive wireless network data transmission delay and also increase network throughput. This paper first introduced the cognitive wireless network as the origin and development ofthe course, and then simply introduced the research situation about the cognitive wirelessnetwork these years, we also analyzed the research hot spot and the difficulty in cognitivewireless network, and wireless network technology related to cognitive radio network. Then,on the basis of summary and analysis someone others’ research, we proposes our newrouting algorithms. In the proposed algorithm, a source node will set up a route todestination node in a way similar to classic AODV routing protocol algorithm. But unliketraditional AODV method, in our algorithms, each node transfers the routing request packetto the same destination several times, this makes the destination node can create manydifferent paths to the source node by the information stored in the different routing requestpackets. The simulation results show that our routing protocol can reduce the droppedprobability of secondary user calls, reduce the end-to-end delay and to some extent, increase network throughput. Our routing protocol decides the path select algorithmdepending on the type of the node. For the nodes request lower end-to-end delay, we willchoose the path which has small load, for the other nodes, we pay more attention to thedurability of the link. In addition, in order to cope with our proposed routing protocols, wealso proposed a MAC protocol based on the business priority, this protocol can improveend-to-end delay of the high priority business.
