High-peak-power, all-fiber, pulse laser has becoming an important laser source forlidar by their many advantages, which is important to improve the performance ofthe lidar system. This dissertation mainly discusses high-peak-power, narrow-pulse,single-mode, all-fiber, MOPA laser source for lidar, range finding and3D imaging.The main research details are summarized as follows:1.Firstly, the experimental research of the seeder laser of high-peak-power,all-fiber, pulsed laser is directly modulated to generate optical pulses with1.5-nstime duration. In addition, the different repetition rate and pulse width of the seederlaser output is researched. The pulse width of1.5ns,965ps and841ps wereobtained at the repetition rate of30kHz and50kHz.2. The theoretical and experimental research of high-peak-power, all-fiber,pulsed laser have been discussed. The semiconductor seeder laser is directlymodulated to generate optical pulses at1549.8nm. The high-efficiency, low-noisepreamplifiers and high-power double-clad fiber amplifier were reported. It canproduce1.7-ns pulse width and5.1-kW peak power at repetition rate of50kHz. Theoutput power of0.5W is obtained in the case of CW laser output.3. The engineering implementation of the high-peak-power, all-fiber, pulsed laserare researched. Firstly, the pulse-width, temperature-control, and output-power of theseeder laser have been discussed. The high-doped double-clad fiber was used toreduce the nonlinear effects. The output peak power of7.6kW is obtained at1.2-nspulse width and repetition rate of50kHz. Then, the fiber tapered technology isresearched. Finally, the engineering results and laser prototype is achieved.4. This laser has been used as a transmitter of high resolution3D imaging lidar,which achieves the function of3D imaging and gives the scanning imaging results.The performance of the laser was verified. The imaging results show that thesingle-mode, all-fiber laser source can be very suitable for3D imaging lidar. Thedistance precision is about±7.5cm.
