Speech noise cancellation plays an important role in communicationsystem. Some stationary noise can be suppressed by the noise cancellationalgorithm of single microphone, but it performs disappointingly onnon-stationary noise cancellation and noise position locating.A simple and feasible dual microphone array method is described inthis paper that an extra sub-microphone is added on the top of the mobilephone. The sub-microphone picks the same far-field noise as mainmicrophone, but a different near-field voice from that of main microphones,such that we can separate the voice from noise via ICA blind sourceseparation noise cancelation algorithm. The noise cancelation solution isdiscussed in detail in this thesis, including the theoretical proof of thealgorithm as well as numerical simulator. The proposed scheme includedselection of types and position of microphones selection, architecture ofhardware, flow of signal processing software, design of the sound tubedesign and calibration for such microphone array on mobile phone.It is shown by simulation and measurement that the proposed methodperforms excellently on noise cancellation, voice process delay and powerconsumption. Future works including adaptive algorithm that decreasesthe impact of the different frequency response and amplitude for the noisecancellation from different style of the phones.
