3D measurement has been applied widely in reverse engineering, production quality inspection, object recognition and so on. These are mostly static object or scene measurement. In real life and production, we need to measure some dynamic scenes rapidly. Rapid3D measurement has a good application foreground in the field of high-speed inspection and human body measurement. How to improve the accuracy and resolution are research difficulties in rapid3D measurement.The study goal is to establish a rapid3D measurement system consisted of one projector and two cameras combining projecting random pattern and binocular stereo vision. This system project single random pattern, acquire the object images by two cameras, realize measuring rapidly and output dense3D point clouds with good robustness and accuracy. The system makes it possible to measure dynamic scene rapidly because of single shot. The main research content of the paper is as follows.Rapid3D measurment technology based on random coded structured light has been researched. Random pattern has been designed based on random code. Projecting pattern makes object textured richly and improves measurement resolution, satisfying the demand of fast3D measurement. A rapid3D measurement system combining projecting random pattern and binoculat stereo vision has been designed.The system calibration has been researched. It includes single camera calibration based on Zhang’s two stages camera calibration and stereo calibration. The experiment results show that the manipulation of calibration is easy and convenient and the accuracy of calibration is high. Stereo matching based on random patten projection is reseached. The stereo matching speed is improved through rectification. Dense and robust matching is realized based on region matching method using random pattern projecting.A rapid3D measurement system combining projecting random pattern and binocular stereo vision is developed. The standard object measurement experiment shows the accuracy is high. The human body3D measurement experiment shows the system can realize rapid and dense3D measurement with high accuracy and good robustness.
