Design And Implementation Of DHCP Relay Based On Comware V7System

With the fast development of the internet, the network size becomes larger and larger,the network topological structure becomes very complex, and the automatic configurationfor IP address and other network parameters becomes more and more important. How tomanage the network resources effectively is a very important and interesting topic. TheDynamic Host Configuration Protocol provides a very good solution for this problem. Itcan not only reduces the burden of network administrators greatly, but also manages thenetwork resources centralized and rationally. The researches show that, DHCP has a greatsignificance for it can well adapt to the fast growing internet.In this paper, we will make a detailed analysis for DHCP, and briefly introduce ICMP,including the basic principles of these protocols and the important influence they bring forthis subject. According to the standards of these protocols and the marketing demand, animplementation of the DHCP relay based on Comware v7is provided, the structureddesign methodology is used in this design and implementation. After the analysis for themain functions and the relationship with the outside modules of DHCP relay, the generalscheme and module division are explained. Then the packet parsing and relay user-entrymanagement are analyzed in details, the management of relay user-entry is the difficultyof system design. After that, the program development is realized.Finally, the testing plans, methods and environment for DHCP relay system isprovided. The testing procedures and results are described briefly. And also, the typicalproblems of system testing are analyzed. The testing result shows that the DHCP relaysystem corresponds with the protocols and the initial demand, achieves the expected goals.This system is an important application of routers and high-level switchers produced byH3C Company. These devices will have great prospects and make great profit when theyare into the market.
