The Design And Implementation Of Library Management System Based On B/S

With the rapid development of information technology, efficiency has become themain theme of this era. Library management system has become an important way forcollege students and teachers to get books information. Faced with the increasing amountof information, most of the library management system can not provide satisfactoryservice to users, especially the personalized search request. Therefore a new managementsystem which improves the efficiency for students to access library materials informationis urgently needed. People then proposed a new concept: the data space (DataSpace), it isthe ideal way for the storage of individuals, groups and business information.so we designa personalized library management system to improve the efficiency on the accessing theinformation on the library materials.This paper introduces the design and implementation of an personalized bookinformation space systems based upon an object deputy database system(totem). ObjectDeputy Mechanism has both merits of traditional data model and Object Oriented datamodel. It provides a unified realization of object views, multiple roles as well as dynamicclassification and support cross media queries. These characteristics are suitable forpersonalization applications. It has the ability to classify data automatically that thetraditional database system does not have. This system is based upon an object deputydatabase system(totem), using the PHP technology, providing service to users in the webway. In the way of the realization, users create data space according to their own interest,and preserve the library materials which meet with their interest in their own space.Through subscribing data space, and with the automatic classification function of totem,the system can recommend new book information to potential users who are interested inthe books automatically, and thus help the users to subscribe the books. It is mainlycomposed of four main modules, the user registration and sign module, personalinformation management module, personalized library creation module and users’personalized library modification module.The system design the userinformation table,library table, publishers table, proxy class table and user reviews table for users,books and publishers and so on. The system use the platform Nuphere5.9and PHP language. Database use the totem database platform.Book information space systems based on B/S allow users to register in the systemand then login the system to create their own personalized library according to theirinterest. When the new library information is added to the system, if one of the booksmeets the creation conditions, it can automatically be added to the library. At the sametime, the system can also have the function of the created personalized databasemodification and book reviews.
