Abstract/Summary:
Embedded system has accessed more and more widely application with itsfeatures such as low-power consumption, low-cost, high reliability, high stability andstrong specificity. ARM-core embedded platform is currently the mainstream ofembedded system. Because of its opening source code, abundant software resource,high performance and other advantages, Linux operation system has highlighted anincreasingly important position in embedded system development. There is veryimportant theoretical and practical significance to study the development andtransplantation of embedded Linux in the ARM platformIn this paper, I used S3C2410as the core to build the embedded system.S3C2410is a32-bit RISC CPU based on ARM920T core produced by Samsung Corp.,and it has abundant peripheral equipment interfaces and strong instruction set. Theembedded hardware platform includes CPU, external memory, serial interface, JTAGinterface, Ethernet interface, USB interface and other peripheral equipment. Then thehardware debugging, transplantation of bootloader and Linux kernel were carriedthrough in this platform.This thesis first introduced how to establish the embedded hardware platform,including design of hardware circuit and introduction of every module’s function.Then it introduced the process of debugging the hardware circuit, including how tobuild cross development platform and debug serial interface. After that, in order totransplant embedded operation system, it had to build linux cross compilingenvironment. And then, it studied detailedly the function, structure and character ofbootloader and transplanted vivi in the hardware platform. At last, it did someresearch about the structure’s character of linux kernel. And it discussed the process oftransplantation which includes embedded linux kernel’s modification, configurationcompiling and so on.
