The image registration technology is one of the rapidly developed image processingtechnologies. It is a process different to match two or more images in the same scenesensors, or different conditions. And with the purpose to proofread differences ongeometry and gradation among images. Image registration technique has been used inmany fields, like medical diagnosis and treatment, remote sensing, computer vision,image data fusion, remote sensing image processing etc. And it is a necessary part ofimage and vision process. The sub-pixel image registration technology develops baseon the pixel image registration technology. And it boosts the requirement ofregistration precision up to sub-pixel level. So we could process images moreaccurately latter.Sub-pixel image registration algorithms are mostly the same as pixel imageregistration algorithms, but most of them need to be ameliorated. Familiar imageregistration algorithms include algorithms based on gradation, algorithms based ontransformed area, algorithms based on optimization and algorithms based oncharacters. Literatures [1-12] expatiated on one or more of the algorithms deeply.After worked over many registration algorithms systemlessly, this paper propose asub-pixel image registration algorithm based on ameliorative phase correlation andpartial interpolation. Experimental results indicate that the new algorithm with highcalculational precision, fast registration speed and extensive application range.The purpose of image registration is to proofread differences on geometry andgradation among images. So naturally, we should take some steps to the shift image togain this purpose after we estimate the registrational parameters. Which is calledimage resume. After deep study and several conducive experiments, the paper choosethe PV interpolation as the image resume method. This method has more advantagescompared with traditional image interpolation method.Multi-wave band image fusion is an important branch of image fusion. Take imageregistration as the base operation, we brought out an intact and clear flow and method for fusing multi-wave band image into color image. Experimental results indicate thatthis flow and method is strong and effective. And the syncretic color images aresuitable to human ocular recept.Lastly, the lack of the research in the paper is summarized, and then looks forwardto the futurity of the related research.
