Panoramic images is an important research interest which is based on imaged-based rendering (IBR).It is also one of the most active research subjects in the area of Image rendering. The image which created by panoramic imaging technology contains all the message of the view space. Because of its wide view field high resolution and great amount of information, panoramic images are widely applied in every area. There are three steps during the process of generating panoramic:transforming coordinates, image matching and image fusion.In the section of transforming coordinates, this thesis adopts the method which combines with the back-cylindrical projection and the bilinear interpolation.Image matching is the critical part in the process of generating panoramic. This thesis compares and analyses every algorithm of image matching, and adopt the phase correlation algorithm to match the images. This algorithm could change the images to the frequency domain. We could get the relative displacement between the two images by doing the inverse Fourier transformation to the cross power spectrum. Then finish the work of image matching by the relative displacement.Because of the different lighting conditions, there must be a light line during the coincided area. This thesis uses the method of linear smoothing to fuse the images, and remove the light line. Because of the unsatisfactory result by using the method of average value, this thesis presents an improved method of average value. At first, let the two images have unified average values of luminance, then use the traditional method to fuse the images.In the end, the programs of every steps of generating panoramic are written by Matlab. And the programs are powerful to get a high quality panoramic image.
