With the progress of mobile communication, a demand for wireless services is growing, and the future wireless communication systems requiring high-speed data transmission should support a large number of subscriber and ensure the fulfillment of quality-of-service(QoS) requirements for wireless multimedia services. Long Term Evolution (LTE) defined by3GPP can make use of limited radio resources to provide high-speed data transmission and achieve high system throughput under ensuring the different QoS of users. To achieve the optimal design of the system, the methods to allocate wireless resources are the important issues. This paper focuses on resource allocation algorithm for downlink multi-user OFDMA system. First, this paper researches several classical scheduling algorithms and gives the performance analysis by simulating practice for two algorithms. Then combining weighted factor, it proposes Weighted Multi-carrier Proportional Fair(WMPF) scheduler. In this paper, we simulate the scheduler in Matlab and the results verify the practicability and the effectiveness of WMPF scheduler. Compared with traditional PF algorithm, WMPF not only guarantees the system throughput, but also provide delay guarantee for real-time users and minimum rate guarantee for non-real-time users. For the real-time users, the packer loss rate is lower1percent than PF algorithm. Furthermore, the algorithm guarantees fairness among users. The paper provides a good foundation for future research.
