In nowadays when the mobile communication is transiting from2G to3G, new technologies have been applied one by one; new mobile network operators are getting developed day by day. Spectrum resources are becoming increasingly strained, various potential interference sources are generated at an astounding rate. Increasing reuse of frequencies of various operators, improper setting of network configuration parameters, issues of transmitter setting and repeater self-excitation all may cause the problems of mobile communication network with RF interference. These interferences can negatively affect the normal operating of the network. Thus it is imperative to solve the problem of radio interference, the core problem of network optimization. Therefore, how to use a scientific method and proper tools to find interference source rapidly and accurately so as to eliminate the interference is becoming more important.This thesis discusses the uplink interference of the mobile communication GSM system, introduces the domestic mobile communication mode frequency distribution, and analyzes the types of uplink interference existing in current mobile communication network, including the repeater interference, CDMA interference, parts interference of its own, intentional interference, EMI interference, etc. The conditions and reasons of GSM uplink interference generation and judging standards are the key points of discussion in this thesis. Combining with conditions of Nantong GSM network, the types of uplink interference and the reasons why the interference is generated, and the positioning flow are researched. Besides, the case of interference caused by2G network and repeater is analyzed and common methods to deal with uplink interference occurring during daily network optimization are given. The main topics of this thesis will be helpful for eliminating uplink interference in communication industry.
