Broadband or ultra broadband phased array radar is an important subject of phased arrayradar technology with multi-targets and multi-function complete task. Phased array radar canalso act as a countermeasure and communication to make it a sharing aperture antenna arraysystem. The array antenna unit research is always the focus of research problems. This articlemainly aims at the x-band antenna array requirements.We design a kind of array antenna unitVivaldi slot antenna.The Vivaldi antenna is a kind of traveling wave antenna with a high gain.Also it’s an endfire antenna which works with line polari-zation in very wide frequencyband.And the structure is simple, easy to processing. It suits with solid device integration. It’svery suitable for as a phased array antenna radiation units.This paper we use Vivaldi antennaas the array units.This paper analyses the antenna structure parameters which have a strong influence onthe performance of the antenna unit.We use the simulation method to analyse theparameters.It is the feed part that affect the antenna performance. And the microstrip-slotconversion part of the performance directly affect the antenna of radiation performance.Therefore we put the emphasis on this part and we do a lot of simulation. Finally gives is theoptimal size and the simulation result. The optimized antenna impedance bandwidth reaches6.05-12.5GHz, meet X band range from8to12.5GHz. The gain ranges from4.07to8.11dBi. The simulation results also gives the impedance bandwidth, beam width, and gainradiation characteristics of the optimization antenna, etc.The coupling between antenna array antenna unit has a direct influence on the antennaperformance,such as field pattern, the beamwidth, side lobe level,gain and so on.We introducea proposed structure in a Vivaldi antenna array,and the effect of the structure is analyzed.Also we compared the new antenna with conventional antenna.The active unit pattern methodis used.The effect of DGS structure in decoupling the array is analyzed effective...
