The definition of VDT work is the generic term of the works of data, text and image, etc. information processing by useing the personal computer (PC),the Visual DisplayTerminalof computer system. The fatigue has occurred during theVDT work will produceharmful effects on workers’ physiological and psychological activities. Therefore, it isnecessary to carry out the research of VDT work fatigue to improve the condition of VDTwork fatigue.By reviewing the related theory of VDT work fatigue and determination methodes, this paper established a VDT work fatigue evaluation index system on the basis ofanalyzing all kinds of factors that may affect the fatigue in "people-computer-environment"system. It quantified the qualitative indexes, and used the "fatigue self-conscious symptomquestionnaire" to measure the fatigue status, and then divise the level of VDT work fatigue. This paper designed VDT work fatigue evaluation questionnaire, did the random survey ofVDT operators in the relative concentration offices of the five areas in Beijing, aftercollecting the data, it usd SPSS13.0to do Spearman nonparametric related analysis, obtained the results of correlation of each indexes and overall score. This paper according to the PSO-BP neural network theory and methods, constructedthe VDT work fatigue evaluation model. In the Matlab7environment, it did sample datasimulation by writing the code. Through the use of PSO-BP that has already set, trainingthe sample data, and get test results that the error between the basic results and target is inless than10%, and through the use of the trained PSO-BP model do the empirical analysis,it confirmed this model in this paper can be well applied in VDT work fatigue evaluation.
