LD end-pumped SESAM passively mode-locked lasers have high pulse repetition rate and high peak power, which is widely used in a lot of fields.This thesis is mainly research on the basic principle of mode-locking achieved used by SESAM. And discussed the way of achieving cw mode-locking derived from reduce cw mode-locking threshold.On the basis of theoretical research above. We experimental studied on LD end-pumped Nd:YVO4/SESAM passively mode locking lasers used Z-cavity and obtained low threshold, high transfer efficiency1064nm cw mode-locking pulse laser output.5.24W average output power is obtained corresponding to pump power of9.64W under l00MHz repetition rate, the optical-optical efficiency reached54.4%. The threshold of cw mode-locking operation is0.5W. Experimental studied on LD end-pumped Nd:GdVO4/SESAM passively mode locking lasers and obtained high power cw locking-mode operation. The average output power was7.9W, and optical-optical efficiency reached39%, and the locking-mode pulse width is about13ps.
