Analyse&Implementation Of HLR Layered Architecture

In order to realize the target of personal communications, current communication networks are under evolution from network based to user based. Within the process, it’s necessary to split user data from different networks, constructed as a database element containing all user information. Inside mobile communication, that means merging user data together from PS/CS/IMS domain. In current phase, it’s an effective way to introduce HLR layered architecture, i.e. split user data and logic control, to set the stage for whole network migration.So, this paper discusses the significance and inevitability of user data consolidation while mobile telecommunication network’s evolution to user based network. It expatiates on the procedure for evolution to user data migration network and the method to layer HLR in current phase. Detail analysis the layered HLR’s system architecture, each element functional characteristic, detail working mechanism and implement. By comparing with classic HLR, this paper discusses the layered HLR’s characteristic of capability, scalability, redundancy, etc. Through establishing the layered HLR test plant, verified the achievability of layered HLR’s function, tested its characteristic of scalability and redundancy. Also discuss the procedure for upgrading classic HLR to layered HLR.
