Virtual disassembly simulation platform (Virtual Platform for Disassenbly&Assembly, VPDA) is an important virtual platform which developed by a virtuallaboratory with a number of training programs on the basis of simulation training.VPDA platform has many features which can achieve varieties of users’ demand, suchas removable training, trainees assessment and so on. It has good application insimulation training field,but it was limited. VPDA platform energy level also existsome disadvantages and limitations which have not been got improvement, such ascollision detection of this important function.For this situation, this paper which basedon the existing collision detection technology through the appropriate optimization ofimprovement and innovation, proposes a kind of hybrid fast collision detectionalgorithm, which better meet the relevant of the platform to realize the function of thePlatform collision detectionWith the in-depth analysis of the virtual disassembly simulation platformmodules and system functions and performance requirements for collision detection,and the analysis of the existing basis, this article divided platform collision detectioninto two design stages based on the functions, namely preliminary test phase anddetailed collision detection stage.Preliminary testing stage, this paper designs a kind of virtual disassembly sceneprecise bounding volume algorithm which based on the theory of surrounding the bodydesign of technology. This algorithm is based on hierarchical bounding volume whichconstraints as a bounding box AABB bounding volume, establishes of a hierarchicaltree structure to achieve a rough remove,and quickly completed the initial task ofcollision detection. The bounding volume which constraint-based the relationshipabout AABB is mainly to solve the intersection test problems between the hole axisand the concave-convex structure, in order to eliminate the object maximumly whichdoes not at the intersection during the initial testing phase and improve the efficiencyof collision detection algorithm.During the detailed collision detection stage, through to the traditional triangularpatches Lane intersection test algorithm optimization (plane optimization), accordingto the projection geometry of space law theory commonly combine with the ray tracingalgorithm which also used in the virtual scene(projection method), this paper proposeda kinds of efficient and effective triangle intersection test algorithm. The algorithm is simple, efficient, and it meets the demand of disassembly simulation platform forvirtual applications.Finally, the gearbox for example, in the virtual dismantling of Mixed simulationplatform collision detection algorithm, the algorithm through experiments to test theperformance and efficiency.
