The Fourier transform spectral imaging technology is a organic combination of imaging and spectral technology.Base on the relation of interference image and spectrum distribution, The spectrum distribution can be obtained with Fourier transform of interference image we tested. The so called "THE IMAGING BY FOURIER TRANSFORM SPECTROMETER",a match up of2-D image with1-D spectrum distribution, has so many advantages such as multispectrum, high spatial resolution and unity of image and spectrum that widely applied in remote sensing, biology, astronomy, environmental monitoring and military. The Fourier transform spectrum3-D imaging is actually a process of partially coherent light imaging. For its partial coherence property, the maximum light intensity can be tested where the optical path difference is zero. Therefore, the data we get from Fourier transform imaging is a combination of2-D spectrum distribution and3-D surface structure data. For this reason, we firstly study the Fourier transform spectrum imaging and further propose a algorithm to derive3-D surface structure data by analyzing a series of interference images. This algorithm combines spectrum imaging technology into partial coherence interference3-D shape measurement, which is effective to get the multispectrum images of a scene or target with high resolution as well as surface detection of small objects in nanometer level. And then, the color image of our sample can be obtained with the matchup of spectrum data with color information based on colorimetry theory and further we employ imaging mapping technology to fuse the color image with3-D surface structure to realize the reconstruction of micro structures displaying on a computer system. The simulation and experiment results approve the validity of our proposed method. It’s very meaningful when we apply this novel method to hyper-spectral precision measurement of color object.Six sections is follows in this paper.Section1. The review of Fourier transform spectrum imaging history.we detailly illustrate the theory of Fourier transform spectrum imagining and the present situation both home and abroad. And then, we explain our thoughts and methods.Section2. Fundamentals of deriving2-D spectrum image. This sections conclude the analysis of Fourier transform spectrum properties,1-D spectrum distribution derivation algorithm, the resolution problem of spectrum reconstruction.Section3. Calculation principle of3-D surface structure.we explain the partial coherent light interference surface shape measurement and the basis of3-D shape reconstruction as well as3-D surface shape data deriving algorithm with a series interference images.Section4.Color property of a point object’s spectrum distribution. We detailly introduce colorimetry and focus on color management in Fourier transform spectrum imaging technique. We deal with the problem how to present true color of a reality object in computer system,Section5. The3-D reconstruction of a authentic object. In this section,we have two focus. The first is simulated experiment. The MATLAB is utilized to create a virtual color object, and simulated with our methods and the reconstructed image obtained at last in computer. The simulated result is agreed well with theory. The second focus is optical experiment.we detailly illustrate the optical setup, experiment procedure and data processing. The optical results also approve the validity of our novel approach.Section6.We conclude first and point out some issues we doesn’t deal with. And these issues is well worth of more efforts.
