LAMP Open-Source Framework Based Information System For Small And Medium Trade Enterprise

Limited to fund and human resource, the SME informatization always lacks a whole plan, and works out only one problem in a project. Most of the SME always face the "information islands", because those information systems can’t share the data, and work in a low efficiency, and can’t maintain the consistency of the data, and endure the big risk and huge maintain working of information system. How to integrate these existing systems to one system, is the most import informatization problem faced by most of the SME.The author had taken part in a reforming and updating project on a SME information system, and tried to model the whole information system of one SME based on UML, and rebuild the system within LAMP open source framework, and search for a new pattern on SME informatization based on open source software.The author’s main working includes:1、Using of the USER-CASE techniques to achieve requirement analysis of the SME information system, and build the static and dynamic models of the system based on UML, and complete the detail design of every module of the whole new system, and normalize various kinds of data and working procedures with some UML tools such as USE-CASE diagram, E-R diagram and CLASS diagram, and re-plan the existing enterprise information system to build a new business model to reduce system complexity and improve efficiency and enhance for the overall management information system. The author raise a new method based on data integration to transfer the huge sale data to less purchase data. The existing method was too simple, and generated a lot of procedure data with a low efficiency. The author also put forward another new method to promote the sorting efficiency in the warehouse. The new method will give every goods a weight factor related to its stock position, and every delivery order will have an average weight factor, so the warehouse-man could deal with all the delivery orders in ascending order of the average weight factor of each order.2、Choosing the proper technologies from open-source framework for SME informatization, and reforming comprehensive the existing system, which include databases, operating systems, network services, user interface and business logic implementation, etc. The author’s study focus on these key techniques to promote the performance of LAMP, include the full support to XML in the PHP, the own backup function of MySQL, and the SESSION technique to improve the safety of system, etc.The new system achieves the basic design goal of the reforming project, and integrates all the existing sub-system to a complete one, which support all the business functions, and have a higher efficiency, and cost fewer funds. This new model to set up the SME information system based on UML modeling and open source framework will be beneficial to the development of SME informatization.
