Multiple input multiple output technology is widely used in wirelesscommunication systems, the study of space-time coding and beamforming technologyshows that the transmitters can further improve the transmission quality and increasesystem capacity by using a priori channel state information (CSI), and beamformingtechnology or pre-coding technology of the closed-loop MIMO. These two MIMOtechnologies have been applied in the standards of the third generation (3G) mobilecommunication systems and long term evolution (LTE) technology.This paper focuses on the beamforming technology of LTE and LTE-Advancedwhich is the evolution of follow-up LTE. According to the reciprocity of the channel,this paper mainly study the basic theory of beam forming, several typical algorithm ofbeam forming, the detection algorithm of the receiving end and the application of thebeamforming technology in LTE. Then, this paper achieves a typical beam-formingtechnology based on SVD decomposition on the hardware platform of Freescale DSP.This paper analyzes the performance and resource consumption.Firstly, I outline the development of wireless communication, the evolution ofLTE-TDD, and the key technologies of the LTE-TDD system, and introduce thephysical layer of LTE-TDD, Including the downlink physical layer, the frame structure,the physical channels, the physical resources, the physical signals, and the process ofthe downlink shared channel of LTE-TDD.Secondly,I describe the basic theory of beamforming in MIMO-OFDM systems.Multiple antenna systems, space-time coding and the capacity of beamforming systemare analyzed firstly. Then, the common beamforming algorithm including the singularvalue decomposition algorithm, the geometric mean decomposition algorithm, thechannel inversion algorithm are introduced, and the reuse of the beamformingtechnology, limited feedback beamforming technology and multi-user beamforming aredescribed. Finally, the application of beam-forming technology in multi-antennaLTE-TDD system is introduced. Finally,describe the common beamforming detectionalgorithm in the beamforming receiver, And the above algorithm has been simulated and verified.Finnaly,introduce the DSP implementation of the beam forming. The MSC8156ADS platform of Freescale is described firstly. Then, the software process and the mainfunction of the DSP implementation are introduced. Finally, the beamformingtechnology which is implemented by DSP is system tested, and the DSP systemresources are assessed. About2dB loss when Contrasting implementation of DSP andMATLAB, and the execution time of code is0.8928ms, which satisfy the requirementof LTE system.The final chapter summarizes the previous research work and points out the nextpossible research direction.
