Gyro-devices, including gyrotron family and peniotron, which use the interactions of encircling electrons and electromagnetic wave to produce and amplify the electromagnetic wave, have broad application prospects. However, because of the high magnetic field intensity they need, and there are strict distribution and regulation requirements in the long axis space, people have to use the superconducting magnet which is expensive, complicated and requires large space and much energy, so it affects the progress of gyro-devices’nutzbarmachung to a great extent. Realizing the permanent magnetic packing of gyro-devices and taking the place of superconducting magnets with permanent magnets is an important advanced topic full of practical value and technical difficulty. Also it attracts wide attention by the profession at home and abroad.In this paper, we have studied the basic theory and design method of gyro-devices’ permanent magnetic packing. On the basis of summarizing the research progress in permanent magnetic packing technology domestic and overseas, we have systematacially discussed the basic theories and approaches of the devisal of permanent magnetic system and analysis of essential requirements in magnetic field distribution and regulation of various gyro-devices has been done. And then we have analysed and synthesized the information all around in line with the basic theory and obtained two different design plans. We have gained fairly satisfactory results and summarized the rules of how to optimize and adjust various parameters in the way of analog computation and optimization. At last, we have fitted and substituted the electron gun calculation program with axial magnetic field distribution gained by our design, then larger-orbit and small-orbit gyrotron electron guns which can generally meet the demands have been made.The research and analysis of permanent magnet system of gyrotron and the matched electron gun in this paper, provide important reference for our design of actual gyrotron with permanent magnet system afterwards. The ideas and methods may come into use in follow-up experiments. The experience of parameters optimization have important reference value to related works.
