With the deepening of the degree of seismic prospecting, the exploration activityturns from structural hydrocarbon reservoir to lithologic reservoir. As the mosteffective exploitation method, seismic exploration is playing a more and moreimportant role. Currently, identification of micro-fault and sand body became a mostimportant problem along with improvement on seismic prospecting technology. Forthis reason, seismic processing and interpretation technology suitable for it have beendeveloped in recent years, among which the fault enhance and coherence techniquehave been widely used. The coherence cube is a new3D seismic interpretationtechnology developed in recent year. It can reduce the period and the difficulties ofnormal seismic interpretation ways. At the same time, it can effectively determine thespatial distribution of faults and other detail features. During the description ofcomplicated fault-block oil reservoirs, the key tasks include the recognition andhorizontal assemblage of faults and the classification of blocks. Fault combinationprogram always gives multiple solutions using individual-layer data of formation andcommon interpretation method of seismic profile. It makes the division of fault blocksis far different from the actual underground situation.However, It is very difficult to interpret minor faults directly from seismic profilebecause of limited resolution of seismic data. In order to improve the precision andrationality of minor faults interpretation, Combine production and reality, wedeveloped the three-dimensional fault coherence and imaging software. CombiningOrientation filter and edge preserving filter technologies, we develop the orientationedge Preserving filtering fault enhance technology. This technology can be used in theenhancement of seismic fault picture and elimination of the noise, and clearer faultinformation with good continuity can be acquired. This technology is helpful forstructure interpretation or fault automatic picking automatically. So it has veryimportant theory and application value.
