With the increasing development of the clone technology, a variety of electronic products can be easily copied by other people, especially in the FPGA design field which has the features of difficult development, long period and high cost, but the intellectual property rights of the designer can be gone just with some regular decryption ways. So the FPGA design is facing a stem challenge which urges people to constantly enhance the research in the field of security. However, ways of protecting FPGA are few and the space of development is still large, these situations have developed the technology of encryption and authentication. The encryption system of this article uses the safety storage chip as the core technology, it cannot only realize the basic function of protection, but also has features of low cost, small occupancy and wide use comparing with the traditional encryption schemes.The main work is:First, the article introduces the source and significance of this topic, it also introduces the progress status at home and abroad, it has researched the advantages and disadvantages of the existing encryption methods. Then we have analysed the theory of the earlier stage, including the working principle of the design and the choice of the algorithm. Then, according to the design scheme, we have done the exact implementation, the working contents include the chip selection, the hardware circuit design and the control logic code compilation. At last, we display the results which have verified the correctness and operation of the design theory. The emphasis of this work is completing the logic design of the system, the difficulty is simulating the communication protocol and the encryption algorithm through the hardware.The results show that this encryption system can greatly improve the security of FPGA, the system can avoid the design being copied with some technical approaches by other people, so it completes the function of protecting the core design. The system can meet the safety needs of the middle and low level electronic products, it can be widely applied in the field of intellectual property protection, it has great economic benefit.
