Currently, the FTP protocol is widely used, it has also become a favorable carrier of the virus. For enterprise users, only using the host-side anti-virus is not enough, because once the internal network host is infected, the virus could easily spread to other hosts. Therefore it requires a combination of gateway-level antivirus to filter viruses in the network entrance, to stop the virus entering the internal network, which can improve the security of the entire internal network. This context research and design a FTP proxy server with gateway-level anti-virus function.This paper describes the theory about FTP and proxy, and simulates the communication process between FTP client and server, then deeply analysis the FTP protocol and operation mode. This paper also proposes a real-time secure anti-virus forwarding mechanism to solve problems of anti-virus proxy, and describes this mechanism in detail. And then we improves GDSF cache replacement algorithm as a response to the limited of FTP anti-virus proxy’s cache size. Finally, according to design requirements and implementation of the proxy function to determine the overall framework of the model of this system, and launched a detailed description of the design and implementation of the FTP anti-virus proxy.This topic is based on a LINUX system, and uses a modular software design ideology. It first presents a general model of the proxy server, and then studies the implementation methods of each module of the proxy server that used and the communication process between the various modules. Finally we use the client and set up the FTP server to test the proxy service, and analyze the test results. This paper studies special problem of FTP anti-virus proxy server and the overall design of the proxy server process, which can deepen our understanding of the proxy server design, and have some theoretical and practical significance for the future study and design about a more powerful anti-virus proxy server.
