SIS (Student Information Management System), is a platform of college studentmanagement service and it is a typical information management system which isindispensable to higher education management. With the development and expansion ofcolleges and universities, the number of students increases year by year. So, it is quiteessential for the supervisor to systematically and comprehensively get the students’information and to search and organize the needed sheet contents quickly and easily.SIS can effectively help the staff of student affairs seek and filter the basic information. In traditional student management, there are many deficiencies, such as poorefficiency, insufficient systematicness, the tedious statistical work and proneness toomissions, in using labor or stand-alone MS-EXCEL software to manage studentinformation. These problems have caused a great deal of trouble to the staff of studentaffairs, and the work efficiency is often lessened. Computer science has developedrapidly and the staff has been more and more proficient in operating computer. However, the stand-alone mode of operation can only limit the work efficiency, far from beingable to integratedly manage all the real-time data of school at any time. Therefore, onlyrelying on the network can the staff seek and filter information immediately. At thesame time, in this way, the cost of work is lowered, while the efficiency improved. Moreover, through unified interfaces, the data are linked. For example, when theteaching management system is butted with student working system, it is convenient toassociate the academic record of students with their daily performance, and the workingtime is greatly saved. Therefore, to design SIS is of great necessity.
