Over the years, the fonts, as the basic unit of the Chinese information processing, can notmatch the cognitive rules of Chinese character, the phenomenon of “take pen, forgetcharacter” is so common that Chinese civilization cannot be continued well. And highinformation entropy is also hindered the development of Chinese information technology.Plus, as the expansion of the fonts, it’s hard to establish a reasonable size Chinese characterset which will be stable for a long time. Aimed at these problems, the Chinese informationprocessing technology without font is proposed, constituting the Chinese character throughthe basic components. But the vast majority of non-font technology only stays at the researchstage, has not become a real application. The Chinese character intelligent formation systemwithout font character based on cognitive mechanism was realized by expert system. And itfirstly entered the trial phase, providing an opportunity for non-font technology application.Proceeding from the theory of the Chinese character intelligent formation system withoutfont character which is based on cognitive mechanism, combining with the prototype relevantknowledge, this paper evaluates the application value of this system by predicting the size ofthe Chinese character prototype library and calculating the information entropy in the way ofmaking up word of the prototype, and improves the expert knowledge base of the intelligentChinese character formation so that the destination of optimizing the expert system can cometrue.On the grounds of the above motivation, the main works and contents of this paper are asfollows:(1) Conducted a statistical analysis and prediction for the Chinese character prototypelibrary and used the regression analysis method to get the model equation which the prototypenumber changes with the Chinese characters increasing, finally predicted the prototypeamount of one hundred thousand Chinese characters to prove that the number of prototypesincrease not much on the existing amount with all one hundred thousand Chinese characters.(2) Analyzed the theory of the information entropy, concluded that could reduce theentropy through decreasing the number of the source symbols. Counted and compared theentropy both font and prototype as the source symbols. Proved that it did reduce theinformation entropy on the condition of the Chinese information processing by prototype, thenon-font system’s application value enhanced significantly comparing with the font system.(3) Proceeding from the expert system of the Intelligent Chinese Character Formation, analyzed the way of building the traditional knowledge base, and then analyzed thehierarchical knowledge tree using association rules of data mining. Represented the obtainedrules by the object-oriented method and integrated with the knowledge base to optimize theexpert system of the Intelligent Chinese Character Formation.
