Research On The Visualization In Group Deliberation System

Deliberation is a mean to deal with open and complex problems. From the perspective ofcognitive science, it is the technology of application in cognitive science. Visualization is the keypart in deliberation system. Deliberation system help the group to have a better understanding of theproblem and adjust the cognition by using the process of visualization human-computer and thesolution methods that is probing and inspiring. Also it helps to extract the key information from thecomplex data set and show the invisible information directly by the interactive diagram. At the sametime, it provides a new way to discover problems and rich means to research.This paper studies the visualization which based on group deliberation, computer graphics andcognitive psychology in deliberation system. Firstly, the paper introduces the basic theory indeliberation system and analyses the status of application and the disadvantage of the existingvisualization in deliberation. Then we improve the structure of the discussion information accordingto the discussion information model. And extract the content of visualization that are thevisualization of discussion information, the consensus situation, the consensus extract and thedistribution of experts’ views. This could help experts better thinking. The visualization of thediscussion information is implemented with TreeView control. The visualization of the consensussituation, the consensus extract and the distribution of experts’ view are implemented in MSChartcontrol. At last, we analyses the application effect by comparing the deliberation system with andwithout the visualization function. The result show that the deliberation system with the abovevisualization can make the group grasp the process of the discussion better. Also it promotes the newsolution be proposed. It speeds up the consensus reach. It improves the deliberation efficiency. Andit make the result of deliberation more scientific and objective.
