In early2012, according to the requirements of the "Dragon3G" Action, WUXI Telecom carried out an special project for nineteen4A level and above scenic spots to optimize the network coverage. At first, complete road test was carried out for all the nineteen scenic spots, which showed7scenic areas got coverage problems. Based on the actual situation of each scenic, coverage schemes were made to optimize the network or install RRUs.In the problem-solving process, we encounter three difficulties, such as coordination with scenic area manager, electrical connection and laying fiber. In order to solve these problems, scene investigation was made, analyzed carefully and did some bold innovation. By using new means like special embellished antenna, upward tilting antennas and microwave repeater,5problems of scenic spots were solved and the coverage of another two scenic spots was greatly improved. This paper describes the full plan of each problem scenic spot and four examples including RF optimization solution of the Liyuan Park’s weak coverage, special antenna used in Yuantouzhu Park, antenna up tilting to cover the Hui Mountain Road and using microwave repeater at an island in Taihu Lake. Each example contains scenic introduction, problem analysis, program introduction, before and after comparison test, the means of network optimization and focuses on application of optimization methods and new technology. The successful implementation of the special scenic optimization accumulated a lot of experience for the ongoing optimization and subsequent3A level scenic spots optimization. It also provides some ideas and methods for other region’s scenic optimization.
