Reprogramming wireless sensor network (WSN) through wireless channelis the best effective way to accomplish the management of the deployment wirelesssensor network. Usually, efficient reprogramming is very vital, due to the sensors’limited and non-rechargeable energy. The existing energy efficient protocols, reprogramming WSN, are more concentrated in a static single sink networkenvironment, which limits the network size. However, those energy efficient protocolsbased on dynamic multi-sink can adapt themselves to the large-scale networkenvironment. A new energy efficient reprogramming protocol (MMSP, multi mobilesinks reprogramming for wireless sensor network) for WSN based on multimobile-sink is presented in this paper. With a circular deployment whose coordinate isthe center, the network topology which is divided into eight quadrants is adopted. Each mobile sink moves along the line, a straight line of the intersection of eightquadrants, and communicates with other sensors at the IEP (Information ExchangePoint) which locates at the line and is apart from a distance to each other. Thesimulation results show that the proposed protocol has an advantage among thenumber of nodes participating in multi hop transmission, the total amount of the datapackets transmitted and the average number of replying a data packet, compared withboth ReMo protocol and MNP protocol. The man contributions of this paper:(a) According to reprogramming for wireless sensor network with a lot of hoptransmission, the K-MELEACH protocol based on MELEACH protocol is proposedin this paper. The concept of atom cluster (AC) is adopted to reduce greatly thenumber of multi hop transmission in K-MELEACH protocol.(b) For wireless sensor’ energy restriction characteristic, a kind of mobile strategyin which the part task is transferred to the special node (Sink) and at the same time, the hops of multi hop transmission are limited in a small range, optimizing energyconsumption, is proposed.
