With the increasing demand of positioning service and the advance of wirelesscommunication technology, the positioning technology has been pushed forward. Inthe open outdoor area, the GPS can provide the accurate location service. But becauseof complicated situation of the indoor, the current locating technology can’t providethe indoor positioning service for signal transmission. Now the demand of indoorpositioning is growing day by day. Thus the indoor positioning has broad prospect andit is the hot research topic.Because of the complexity of in indoor situation, the multi-path effect and NLOSchallenge the accuracy of location performance of indoor positioning system and itsreliability. The current location technique has the following drawbacks:1. The anchornode needs to be densely deployed;2. The location precision relies on the networkdeployment;3. No measure has been taken to suppress the error of ranging which willdegrade the performance of location. The iterative method to suppress the rangingerror to benefit the performance of location will cause the vast load to communicationand computation;4. The existing location technique can’t be applied to the indoorpositioning for the side effect of multi-path and shadowing.Based on the above-mentioned problems, a positioning algorithm based on theensemble of support vector machine is proposed in the thesis. The main works are asfollows:A positioning algorithm is proposed based on the ensemble of support vectormachine. After acquiring the wireless signal feature such as RSSI and ToA, thealgorithm trains the ensemble of support vector machine with sample and its relevantlocation to get the function between wireless signal feature and location. And thesimulation results show that the proposed algorithm in this thesis outperforms otherpositioning algorithm.Finally, based on the chipset CC2430, the indoor positioning system is developedincluding the positioning software and hardware. And the simple positioningexperiments are executed to validate the performance of positioning system.
