In order to meet the opportunities and challenges brought by the rapid developmentof the mobile communication market, the major telecommunication companies start anew competition with each other for core patents when3G standardization has alreadyfinalized. The above contributes to the startup and development of3GPP LTE.Comparing with the former mobile communication systems, LTE makes someimportant breakthrough at the capacity, the latency, the peak speed and the frequencyspectrum flexibility, and recently many derivable topics have become the research focusin the communication filed.In order to adapt to the complex mobile channel environment, appropriate channelestimation technology must be used.The study of channel estimation technology based on LTE made in this paperspecifically refers to the design of the channel estimation schemes which are feasibleand optimal. That is done on the premise of understanding the correlative LTE physicallayer protocol well, and according to the LTE downlink characteristic as well ascombining with existing channel estimation technology.When the LTE downlink channel estimation algorithm is studied, This paperintroduces the traditional channel estimation algorithm (based on the LS channelestimation algorithm and the channel estimation algorithm based on MMSE), design anew algorithm based on the LS algorithm, the downward-interpolation method proposedby this article are used in the interpolation algorithm, and simulate the proposal, verifyand analysis the performance of the algorithm.Finally, comprehensively considering the simulation conclusion and thecomplexity of implementation, a scheme for designing the LTE downlink channelestimator was presented, which was also implemented on FPGA platform.
