Acquisition, tracking, pointing (ATP) are the main technologies in the field of satellite-earth laser communication.The traditional ATP system usually adopts mechanical rotation method to control the turning of the system. There are many shortcomings such as heavy weight,big volume and great rotational inertia. So, it’s hard to meet the requirements of lightweight, miniaturization and low power consumption of satellite laser communication.So, carrying out the research on non-mechanical ATP is with great importance to improve the performance of satellite-earth laser communication.Research mainly focuses on the technologies of non-mechanical ATP based on liquid crystal in this thesis, which is on the frontier in and abroad.The adaptability of mechanical and non-mechanical ATP is compared and the importance of carrying out the research on the technologies of non-mechanical ATP is expounded first.Then,the newest research achievements of ATP technology are introduced.Then, the principle and main technologies of ATP are researched.The principle of controlling the deflection of beam by LCSLM is studied and the key parameters are analyzed and discussed.The influencing factors of the performance of LCSLM are researched and on the base of it,the optimizing methods are given.Finally, software and hardware design of the controlling parts of LCSLM are designed.The experiment of controlling the deflection of beam by LCSLM is carried out and the validity of the theory of controlling the deflection of beam by LCSLM is proved.
