With a large number of digital devices used in equipment. Embedded system hardware and software equipment, its size and importance showed a sharp upward trend, software and hardware reliability has become an important part to ensure equipment reliability. Any electronic system should have high reliability, but because of the working environment and the particularity uses of embedded systems, embedded systems require higher reliability. Can even think so:Reliability is the lifeblood of the embedded system and the key to put system into practice.Improve the reliability of embedded system, the popular talk is to make as little fault, sudden failure of the repair in the shortest possible time, thus enabling the system to work properly. This article from a different side to illustrate how to achieve this goal, the major research work includes the following aspects:(1) Target the embedded hardware upgrading faster, the hardware design is relatively isolated, the design cycle is relatively long, low efficiency, This article in addition to follow the traditional embedded reliability design method, and the introduction of the idea of a hardware modular and hardware fault tolerance, on this basis, in-depth study of hardware fault-tolerant technology, including electronic devices designed with fault tolerance, and multi-modular redundancy systems; modular reflected in the independent design of the various functional components, freedom of assembly.(2) Embedded system go wrong80%caused by the software error, The reason why the software is not reliable, one related to the defects in the software, the second is related to the use of the software. In this article, our main method is software fault tolerance. As the hardware fault tolerance principle, the major software error, the system automatically switches to the backup process, so that the procedures in the case of defects has been triggered, the system still has a normal ability to run.(3) Target the special Driver software, we Not only to take a drive fault tolerance methods to improve reliability, but also run space on device drivers and kernel run space for effective isolation to improve the reliability of the drive.
