Virtual experiment refers to an experiment and teaching system based on Web and virtual reality techonlogies.Compared with traditional experiment, virtual experiment can mitigate the pressures of education expenses, rooms and teachers effectively in many colleges and universities. It can break through the constraints of time and space in traditional experiment and help teachers and students to study on the Internet at any time from any place. It also allow students to design experiments by themselves, which improves the learning efficiency and innovative ideology.As the substruction of virtual experiment, virtual components are essential steps to run virtual experiments. This paper describes a data model for virtual components and provides several methods to design virtual components based on this data model, including graphics interactive design, modeling based on image, parameterized design, importing vector and importing dynamic components. It then does a research about cluster analysis based on MDL in vectorization and gives the application of this algorithm. It emphasizes on the modeling method of dynamic component at last.First of all, for the problem that the reusability of current virtual experiment model is not high, it describes a data defination based on XML criterion, and provides several modeling methods based on this data model. This data model is based on XML which can help manage data well, exchange information between heterogeneous systems and allow components to be used on a cross-platform. These several modeling methods can accommodate the various demands of users, which improve the simulation effect of virtual components and have high extensibility.Secondly, for the problem that the quality of image in modeling based on image is low, this paper introduces the method named importing vector. This paper studies the cluster analysis algorithm in image vectorization and its application. By cluster analysis automaticly for component image, the image can behave excellent effect which shows the advantages of this algorithm. The importing vector method can make full use of the advantages of vector and is a good supplementary for the modeling method based on image.Finally, in order to meet users’needs for interaction and authenticity, the paper proposes the concept of dynamic component and gives the function and the defined format of the dynamic component. It then provides the modeling method of dynamic component. Dynamic component integrates severeal technologies, such as component development, Qt process, calling JAR packages in C++, and so on. It enrichs the interactive features of the component and improves the simulation effect.
