Combining X3D (eXtensible3D) virtual reality technology withindustrial monitor and control(IMC) system can effectively enhance theexpressive force and interaction ability of interface system. The effectiveencapsulation of the interface components is the base that can develop theinterface system rapidly. Enclosing the IMC interface syetem componentencapsulation under X3D environment, the main problems existed arestudied in this thesis. The main content is introduced in detail as follows:Firstly, the expansibility of X3D is analyzed in detail,based on thecomponent model of IMC interface, a method of encapsulation about theIMC interface component under the X3D environment is proposed.Secondly, for the intelligent device components,in form of Prototypenode and script extension, the shape and action of interface component canbe integratedly encapsulated. An intelligent instrument and an intelligentrobotic arm as examples, the encapsulation process of intelligentcomponents is discussed as emphasis.Thirdly, to simplex geometry visual components, based on in-linemechanism of X3D, it is encapsulated in form of individual shape file.To thedevelopment of material library of the simulation process equipment as anexample, the general process of component development, as well as various performance techniques of component are discussed in detail. A virtual oilrefinery and a virtual laboratory of process equipment as examples, thespecific application of the component library is introduced.Lastly, MCGS configuration software as an example, applicationtechnology of X3D interface system integrated with the existing industrialsoftware environment is discussed. Using the extension interfaces providedby MCGS and CortonaSDK senior development component, developVRML-based3D extension component in VB platform and then embeddedthe encapsulated component in MCGS, achieving the seamless integrationbetween the MCGS and the virtual reality technology.
