With the rapid development of computer and network technology, the dissemination of knowledge is developed into information and digital era. The growing number of traditional books, audio and video content to the digital media transition, so that it is more conducive to the dissemination and replication of multimedia content. Accordingly, this also makes piracy more easily and the costs are lower. Text digital watermarking is an important mean of protection of the intellectual property of the text document. It has a wide range of applications on proving ownership of test document, identification of illegal infringement, and ensuring of the integrity and reliability of the text content. The design and pre-processing of watermark information, the space embedding location of watermark, and the watermark embedding and extraction algorithm is the major parts of the text digital watermark, the above all have high research values.This paper has an in-depth study on the Word document text digital watermark algorithm in Chinese and English based on spread spectrum. In this paper, on the basis of preceding research results, we compare and improve the current text watermarking algorithm. First making use of the properties of direct sequence spread spectrum and m sequence, introduce spread spectrum technology to text digital watermarking algorithm, the watermark sequence is extended by m sequence in the proceeding of watermarking information pretreatment. Followed more than one embedding positions are selected, the code element of watermarking sequences is embedded in both LanguageIDOther and NoProofing property of Chinese and English characters. On the beside, considering the number of characters in Chinese and English word document, the size of watermark space is dynamically allocated to embed watermark information to the whole document. The theoretical analysis and experimental results show that, the Word document text digital watermark algorithm in Chinese and English based on spread spectrum in this paper, can effectively improve the robustness and anti-attack capability of the text watermark.
